About BOP ORTHOTICS

Bop is owned and run by Shanelle Whitson. Originally from Mortlake - she has now returned home to the South West after working around Australia in a variety of different clinical settings as both and Orthotist and Prosthetist. Shanelle is a certified Orthotist and Prosthetist c-OP – AOPA, which means she is accredited to practice within Australia, is committed to fulfilling continued professional development requirements, and is a member of the Australian Orthotic Prosthetic Association.

Starting Bop Orthotics has been so much fun, I’m very excited to have moved home to be near friends and family, and to also do what I love: be an Orthotist! It also means I get a lot more time to spend at the beach with my dog, Liz.

Graduating in 2007 from Latrobe University Bundoora, with a Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics, she has been working continuously in the field since then; beginning in Brisbane, then on to Townsville, Perth and most recently in Melbourne. At the beginning of 2020, Shanelle made a decision to move closer to family and friends - as well as something very close to her heart; the beach.

Shanelle especially has a love of working with children, with areas of interest in complex gait management and plagiocephaly treatment.

So, why is it called Bop?

Bop is a nickname that quite a few friends have given me, in different friendship circles. I always thought it was funny how that nickname followed me around, so I decided to name my business after it! It also conveys a nice energetic feeling, one that I want to bring to work every day.
